Are your products hand-made?

You got it! Most of our products are hand-made in the UK and we take care to make sure all our products are checked and produced to the highest standard. 

Are Karla Cosmetics products cruelty free?

Animal welfare is a cause close to our hearts. We are huge animal lovers too with many pets between the team! Our products are not officially certified as ‘cruelty free’ however we do not conduct or commission animal testing on ingredients, formulations or finished products. 

Are Karla Cosmetics products vegan?

All our KC products are vegan-friendly and do not contain any animal derived ingredients or animal by-products.

Are there micro-plastics in your ingredients ?

None of our eyeshadows, pigments or skin care contain micro-plastics.This does not include our Special Effects Glitter which is non-biodegradable.We are committed to a green planet and our environment, so please discard glitter correctly by placing into the bin and not into the drainage system.

Is your MICA ethically sourced?

The mica that we use is lab-created, not mined. We know about the circumstances of working conditions in which mined mica is obtained and as a result and do not support those practices. The mica that we use is made of natural ingredients that mimic mined mica.

Where can I check product ingredients? 

All of the ingredients for each product can be found listed in the description on the individual product page. You can also check the labels on your products for a full list of ingredients. 

Help! My pot of loose eyeshadow seems half full?

Don't worry! This is totally normal for all of our loose pigments to vary as each product is measured on weight, and the difference in density and textures mean some pots could look fuller than others. Rest assured, they are all weighed by our highly trained staff with Approved Cosmetic Grade Scales making sure you get exactly what you pay for. 

When swatching my pigment, it looks different to the photos online!

This is the beauty of our Multichrome and Duochrome pigments, they look different in all different lights and include light sensitive ingredients. Direct sunlight can sometimes wash-out the colours and affect their shifting. We find that natural and low light will display the true colours. We always recommend pairing our pigments with out bestselling FIX POTION; a silky crystal clear light-weight gel, with a semi-matte finish ensuring your glitters, pigments and pressed eye shadows stays put.

Shadow Potion

1.What is the typical shelf life?

You can prolong the use of your Shadow Potion up to 6 months with our recommended care guide.  When not in use, always keep the lid tightly shut and use the white cap as an additional layer of protection. We also advise you store it in a fridge and avoid direct sunlight and warm climates.

2. Why has my shadow potion dried out?

By not following our recommended care guide above, it can cause the Shadow Potion to appear reduced in size. It can also naturally dry out over a period if not kept in the correct storage. We always advise our customers to use a clean, sterilised make up brush for every use and to avoid contamination from any other products.

3. How can I activate my shadow potion again?

If your Shadow Potion needs reactivating, you can add an equal amount of Fix Potion and the same colour Loose Pigment together to create the required and preferred consistency. This will give it some extra life and allow you to have more fun with it!

Do I need to patch test my products?

It is very important to make sure every product is patch tested before using it on your face and eye area, especially if you have sensitive skin. Some of our products contain ingredients that can be sensitive to skin. To patch test, apply a small amount of product to your wrist, inner elbow or behind your ear and allow it to sit on the skin for 24 hours. If any irritation occurs, remove the product immediately and discontinue use.

All Loose Pigments & Shadow Potions: In case of hypersensitivity to one of the components and/or redness or other skin manifestations discontinue use immediately.
